TEN HAG: WHY WE SIGNED MALACIA

Tuesday saw the introduction of Tyrell Malacia as a new Manchester United player, making him Erik ten Hag’s first acquisition.

After making an impact at Dutch club Feyenoord and progressing through the youth systems, our new no. 12 joined the Reds.

Malacia and his new manager have frequently come into contact over the years; the defender formerly competed against Ten Hag’s Ajax in the Eredivisie.

The manager of United acknowledged his happiness at hiring the Dutch international and detailed how the 22-year-old will help his team in an exclusive interview with club media.

The Reds manager declared, “I think he’s the modern left-back or full-back.” He fits the description we were seeking for, and the most crucial quality in a full-back is that he closes the proper space.

With the Dutchman assisting five goals for Feyenoord last season, Malacia established a reputation in Europe as a versatile defender who can play both offense and defense.

Ten Hag is aware of Malacia’s danger and thinks the Reds would benefit greatly from having him.

He remarked, “He can also participate in our game’s offensive side, and he can do that pretty well. “I believe he will significantly benefit the team,”

As Ten Hag’s preseason preparations get up steam, United kicks up Tour 2022 on Tuesday, July 12, when they take on rival Liverpool in Bangkok.

Malacia might play in this match, and United supporters will undoubtedly be excited to see the new acquisition in action at the Rajamangala Stadium, where MUTV will be broadcasting the match live.
