Arsenal and Man United ‘interested’ in signing defender and it’s not Lisandro Martinez
As the Gunners continue their search for defensive reinforcements, Kyle Walker-Peters of Southampton has been linked to Arsenal.
The north Londoners have already added four players to their roster during the summer transfer window, including the Brazilian combo of Gabriel Jesus and Marquinhos, the Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira, and the American goalkeeper Matt Turner. Football.london has learned that the Gunners are also eager to strengthen the left side of their defense if they can get rid of a few squad extras, with Ajax star Lisandro Martinez being mentioned as a possible target.
Martinez is a highly sought-after player on the market since he can play left back, holding midfield, and the center of defense when necessary. Arsenal may lose out to Manchester United in the hunt to recruit the versatile defender because the new manager of the Red Devils, Erik ten Hag, previously coached the 24-year-old while the two were teammates at Amsterdam’s Spartacus.
