The proposal to bring Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona is still being resisted by Manchester United for one key reason.

The Telegraph reports that Man Utd has been informed by De Jong that if his wage disputes with the Catalan club are settled, De Jong is prepared to finalize his move to Old Trafford.

According to the media, Barca still owes more than £17 million in unpaid salary and bonuses, and the 25-year-old player wants the money paid before signing.

Ten Hag is adamant about luring his countryman to Old Trafford, but if for some reason the transfer falls through, it is said that the Red Devils have other players in mind.

Leandro Paredes, an Argentine midfielder, is reportedly wanted by the 20-time English champions, according to renowned French publication L’Equipe.

De Jong, who makes about £230,000 per week, and the rest of the Barcelona team decided to forgo bonuses when the COVID-19 outbreak was at its worst (The Telegraph).

The first preseason match between United and Liverpool will take place tomorrow in Thailand, and Ten Hag will only have Tyrell Malacia at his disposal.

Christian Eriksen is reportedly close to finishing his move and is anticipated to join the tour in Australia, according to a British news source.

Man Utd needs to complete the crucial transactions quickly because there is less than a month until the start of the new Premier League season.
